Tapnell Farm Archery Axe Throwing targets

What is the minimum age to participate?

The minimum age is 11 years. Due to the nature of these activities, they are not suitable for young people below that age.

What do I need to wear?

Please wrap up warm, ensuring you have long sleeves, trousers and closed toe shoes. We supply you with all other equipment needed.

Do I need to be physically fit?

Both Archery and Axe throw are physically demanding activities. We have developed the sessions and infrastructure to be as inclusive as possible, so come and give it a try!

How long is the session?

Archery and Axe throw sessions are both 1 hour in duration. This includes a safety briefing and instructor led demonstrations.

Is there food and drink available?

The Cow Restaurant is a short walk from the ranges, where you can grab a coffee. The Cow also serves a range of tasty burgers, that are a perfect fit for hungry archers!! Please check opening times.

What COVID measures are you taking?

Online booking in advance only, temperature check on arrival, significantly reduced numbers, a maximum of 6 people per session and cleaning the equipment between each session.

Hand sanitising stations in place.

Please do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19. You and your household should isolate at home. Please do not put yourself, our staff, and other customers at risk.

Are there toilet facilities available?

Our ranges have been built right next door to the Aqua Park, where there are basic toilet facilities for you to use.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs are welcome, obviously they need to be restrained throughout the session. If they do cause disruption you may be asked to remove them.

What is the cost?

For a 1 hour session, including equipment and tuition, its £15 for adults £12.50 for under 18’s (minimum age is 11 years)

Is there a spectators area?

There is very limited space for spectators which is only available for people accompanying the person taking part in the session.

The Cow Restaurant is open to customers from 11.30am but you will need to book a table online in advance.

Drinks are available from The Cow at 10am but only via the outside hatch until opening time.
