We are pleased to introduce Archery and Axe Throwing sessions at Tapnell Farm. These will be delivered in our new purpose built ranges, housed inside a covered barn, allowing us to run the sessions whatever the weather, whilst maintaining a safe, comfortable outside environment. The sessions are led by experienced and trained staff, ensuring quality coaching.
There is a seating area in each range. Calm, well behaved, supervised and super-cute dogs are very welcome but must be on a lead at all times (and picked up after).
Each activity is run stand-alone, alternating throughout the day so if you would like to try your hand at both you can book one straight after the other where there is availability.
We share an entrance with the Aqua Park – follow the main track and turn right after the bus stop.
The skill of using a bow and arrow for hunting or military use has been around for at least 10,000 years!! The earliest evidence of a formed arrowhead was recovered in South Africa, dating 60,000-70,000 years ago.
In more modern times, archery has gone from a form of weaponry to more of a recreational pastime.
Here at Tapnell Farm we will provide you with quality coaching to ensure you get the most from your session, whether you are a complete novice or a modern robin hood!!
Each target will have 2 participants sharing - our public sessions allow a maximum of 12 participants. For this reason, the experience is best enjoyed in groups of 2/even numbers.
Channel your inner Viking and learn the basics of target Axe throwing. Using specific throwing axes (hatchets) our instructors will coach you in the correct techniques to hit the target successfully and consistently.
The session takes place in our purpose-built range, right next door to the archery. We use are end-grain to extend the longevity of our targets.
Each lane/target will have 2-3 participants sharing the experience.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to the nature of Archery and Axe throwing there is always an element of risk. Participants will be asked to leave if they show any dangerous behaviour on the range, pose a danger to themselves or others and are disruptive towards other participants.
If you are suspected to have consumed alcohol or drugs, you will not be allowed on the session and no refund will be issued.
